The Write Goal

Introducing Karl Bimshas Consulting's The Write Goal

There’s nothing worse than having a great idea for a book, story or other writing project only to have it languish in a notebook or tucked into a file deep within your computer’s hard drive.

You’re frustrated because you want to write.  You want to work on your dream project, but you’ve been too busy.  Busy with your job, your family and friends, commitments to everyone and everything else but you and your writing.

Many days you’re inspired by new ideas and find yourself craving that undeniable satisfaction every writer gets when their words finally hit the page.

If only you had more time.

That’s what most people say.  The issue isn’t time.  It’s priority management.  It’s knowing why you want to write and what you want to write about.  It’s about holding yourself accountable to fulfill the dreams you want to achieve.  Luckily that’s where Karl Bimshas Consulting helps leaders and artists like yourself who want to achieve more, through dynamic personal and professional consulting.

With “The Write Goal” you’ll explore the why of your project.  You’ll be able to discern what’s keeping you from your writing goal and what will pull you closer to it.

Using similar goal getting principles that have helped executive leaders get things done and high performing teams stay focused on their goal, “The Write Goal” replaces the disappointment you’ve been enduring with productive insights you can put to work immediately.

Fiction, Non-Fiction, Poetry or Prose, nearly everyone has a book in them, but very few can get it out.  This self study course helps you get it done at your own pace.

  • Think how excited you’ll be when you print out the last page of your first draft.  There’s a thrill that every writer gets when they reach that milestone.  A complete first draft.  Like the birth of a child, it may be the end of a long gestation, but it simultaneously marks the beginning of a great adventure and potential.

  • You’ll learn more about yourself and what barriers you may have to your writing or other parts of your life.  You’ll grow confident as you learn to recognize your strengths and natural talents.

  • You’ll suddenly “find the time” to write, even though you’ll still have the same 24 hours in your day.

  • Your ideas will now be on a page.  That may be enough for you.  But once they’re on a page you can then begin to edit, revise and publish them.

Here’s one example of what many others have experienced with Karl Bimshas Consulting:

Poetry in motion, how an artist got her first book of poems published.

New England writer and artist, Kathleen Michelle McPherson had long dreamt of publishing a collection of poetry.  One autumn she decided she had to have it complete in time for Christmas.

Extremely busy and active, her time was already filled with life’s competing priorities. Although extremely creative, she freely admitted that she would often lose focus when it came to the discipline side of writing, because it began to feel more like work to her.  Without the benefit of an outside perspective, she had also grown uncertain of her abilities.  As a result, her naturally high confidence ebbed and flowed.  She intentionally created the Christmas deadline to build momentum but needed help achieving that goal.

Karl Bimshas Consulting helped her craft a plan.  With regular online meetings, her clear true objectives were uncovered which helped determine the tone, pace and size of the book.  They collaborated in creating a series of short and mid-range success metrics related to both writing and publishing decisions. The regular accountability and commitment meetings served to monitor progress and helped put special attention on items that were crucial to meeting her deadline.  While having someone else concentrate on the mechanics of the book, McPherson was able to revisit and edit her poetry with renewed purposefulness.  She reconnected to the original intent of each piece and wove them all together in a way that captures elusive emotions from a moment in time.

Of working with Karl Bimshas, McPherson says, “He believed in me, encouraged me and honored the artist in me.  He offered an experienced hand in the process of publication and walked me through that.  He was gentle, kind, and genuinely enthusiastic.  He’s an artist himself and that in and of itself goes a long way.”

The Result

Galley copies of the book arrived in time for Christmas and in March 2009, “Glow from the Kindling Ash” was available to the buying public on Amazon and other booksellers. Kathleen Michelle McPherson is now working on her first novel.

Why is virtual consulting valuable?

  • You’ll have time to think before you answer any questions. You can mull them over for a couple of days before you answer; getting a far better insight than giving your gut response.
  • The act of writing (or typing) your answers and actions helps you to clarify what you are really doing and thinking. You’re far more likely to achieve your goals if you write them down.
  • Unlike committed one on one coaching, if you get busy during the week, you can move your virtual coaching to a time that suits you. So if you have family commitments, or a heavy day at work, you can complete your coaching sessions when it’s convenient for you.
  • Virtual Consulting is considerably more affordable than appointment driven telephone or face-to-face coaching.
  • Your coaching notes are all kept on one secure website so you can return to previous sessions for reflection and review.

Think about it for a moment

If you invest in this product and use it, you could have the first draft of your writing project completed AND you’ll have more clarity around your goals, so you can plan future projects with confidence.  Or, if you choose to do nothing, keep the status quo, you may be in the exact same place you are today 3, 6, even 12 months from now. All the while losing the opportunity to work on a great goal, your writing.

So take action now -- the chances are too great that you’ll forget about all the immense potential this program can bring you. Your first draft is just around the corner.
